Min. Patricia Scriber-Moore, Associate Minister

Patricia Scriber Moore was born in Leonardtown, MD on February 21, 1967, to the late Nellie Ellen Scriber and Joseph Edward Shade, Jr., both natives of St. Mary’s County, Maryland.  Sis. Moore is a divorced mother of three lovely daughters and two beautiful granddaughters.

Sis. Moore was born and raised in the Catholic faith.  She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Churchevery Sunday morning with her Mom.  She attended catechism at the age of seven to learn more about the Catholic faith.  She received her first Holy Communion at the age of eight.  When she turned fourteen, she went through the sacrament of confirmation, which gave her all the rights and privileges in the Catholic faith.

Sis. Moore was educated in the St. Mary’s County Public Schools system.  In May 1985, she graduated from Chopticon High School.  After graduation, she moved to the District of Columbia with her maternal grandmother to pursue her career.  She joined True Deliverance Church of God where she gave her life to Christ under the pastoral care of Apostle Albert D. Venson.
In 1989, after marriage, Sis. Moore joined Community Bible Baptist Church (CBBC) under the pastoral care of Rev. Dr. Clevester O. Wimbish.  At the time Sis. Moore joined the church was considered a mission.  She was baptized in the baptismal pool at Mt. Joy Baptist Church.  She served as President of the Usher Board for many, many years, sung in the choir and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship.

In 1993, her family moved to Detroit, MI where she joined New St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Rev. Dr. Larry Smith.  Sis. Moore was initially called into the ministry in 1995; however due to many, many struggles going on in Sis. Moore’s personal life at that time she stepped away from ministry but never stepped away from God because she realized and recognized that is where all of her strength came from.

In 2008, Sis. Moore relocated back to the DMV area and rejoined CBBC.  Sis. Moore currently serves in the capacity of Sunday School teacher, Women’s Ministry President, sings in the choir, attends Bible Study and Prayer service and has taught Vacation Bible School.  In 2015, she started matriculating at Marymount University taking biblical classes of instruction.  She is finally stepping into the calling of the Lord into ministry in 2018, giving God all the praise and glory!!!
Here are some Scriptures she has stood on and still stand on today:
Psalm 34:1,3,4,7 & 8
  1. I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
  1. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
  2. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
7.   The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth
      them.
8.   O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
