Rev. Jennifer Wimbish, Associate Minister
 
Jennifer A. Wimbish was born April 13, 1947, in Durham, North Carolina, to Vivian and John C. Campbell.  Early in her childhood her parents ended their marriage in divorce.  At the age of three years old, she moved to Washington, D.C. with her mother.  Her mother married the late Eugene Lyon.  She is the oldest of five children, in which her younger sister Rene E. Lyon past away in September, 2004.
 
She attended the D.C. public schools, graduating from Spingarn High School in 1967.  After graduating she attended University of the District of Columbia (UDC) for one semester for business administration.
 
She worked at the Smithsonian Institution in D.C. from 1973 to1983 as a Secretary Typist; later deciding to be a stay-home mother; which later developed into her License Day Care Business in1993.
She later married Aubrey K. Wimbish, Sr, in 1976, they have together six children (4 boys, 2 girls); all are married and has made us proud grandparents of sixteen grandchildren.  
 
She accepted the Lord at the early age thirteen and later rededicated her life to Christ in her early thirties.  She served as a deaconess at Mt. Joy Baptist Church under Carey E. Pointer, Jr.  Later she joined Community Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Clevester O. Wimbish. There she served as President of Deaconess Board; Nurse’s Unit, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Art Teacher and worked in the Youth Department along side her husband, the Youth Pastor. She was a member of two choirs: the Spiritual Volunteers, and the Senior Choir; also served in the Women’s Ministry.
 
She later moved her membership to Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, on January 1, 1998, where her husband was called to Pastor. While working in the ministry with her husband she heard the call of God.   She accepted her calling in 2004 and under the advice of her Pastor, she entered the Washington Baptist Seminary 2008 where is now matriculating.
 
She feels her passion is for the Women’s Ministry, there she feels that she has a lot to offer.
 
Her favorite Scripture is Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against three shall prosper.”
